Daisies

Good Morning Everyone!
 Simply Papercraft

Welcome to another 'Anything Goes' challenge over at Simply Papercraft and this week we are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps

who are offering a fabulous prize of $10 to spend in their store and Faery Ink

who are offering as a prize any 3 digis from their shop.

As usual the design Team were given a great set of images to play with. I chose this very simple but lovely daisy image by Stitchy Bear.

I used a textured grey card as the base and coloured the image with watercolour pencils. I just love how the white stands out against the grey background. I've matted the image on bright white card and made a greeting using white letter stickers.

I'm entering this card into the 'Anything Goes' challenges at:

Tiger Tiger

Well today's card was such a fun card to make. A lady at work asked me to create something for her daughter's 9th birthday - she wanted a tiger theme and the daughter's favourite colour is green! Quite a challenge!

I didn't want to use a realistic picture of a tiger as I felt this would be too grown up for a 9 year old so I searched the internet for ideas on punch art tigers. Greatly inspired, I created the tiger using a variety of dies and punches and a number of hand-cut 'stripes'. The green patterned paper came from a craft pack I bought at Lidl or Aldi years ago. It's a photo of raindrops on grass which I thought had a jungle feel to it and provided the essential green. I made the tiger effect backing paper by drawing a variety of stripes with a black pro-marker around the edges of some orange paper. I used the same effect on the number 9 and created the greeting on the computer (candy square BTN striped font). Finally I added some googly eyes and some peel-off whiskers.

I'm really pleased with the result - it was made on an 8x8 kraft card base so it will really stand out amongst Anna's shop bought cards.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

The ABC Challenge - N is for number
Try It On Tuesday - hot and wild
Crafty Time Challenges - punches/dies
Cut It Up Challenge Blog - use a number

Floral Fancy

Today's card is not in my usual style - it's a bit fancier than what I usually make. I had a request from a work colleague to make a birthday card for her Mam with a floral theme and this gave me the opportunity to do a bit of decoupage and to use a fancy die that hadn't been taken out of the packaging since I got it 2 years ago!

The flower decoupage is from my local craft shop in Sunderland and the subtly checked papers are from a Hunkydory kit that came with a magazine. The fancy dies used are from Spellbinders - Enchanted Labels.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Creative Inspirations - flowers

Anniversary Snippets

I needed to make an anniversary card for some friends and inspired by the 'use snippets' challenge at Less Is More, I made this card from lots of 'bits' from my scraps box...

For some unknown reason I seemed to have lots of strips of card. What better way to use them up than to make a basket weave background! I also had lots of pieces of lilac card left over from making some wedding invitations for a friend - I matted the woven card onto a lilac base and die cut a lilac heart for a topper. I added a trio of lilac gems and voila - a card make from snippets!

Life's A Beach

Where is this year going to - I can't believe we're halfway through July already! As it's Saturday yet again I have my usual 'Less is More' challenge card to share with you.

The theme this week is.......

 'Life's a Beach'

I googled 'beach huts' and found this wonderful image on a teacher's resource website. I coloured it with promarkers and carefully fussy cut it using a craft knife.

The sand and sky were also done using promarkers and I couldn't resist adding a couple of tiny die cut clouds.

Party Frock

Hello folks...

Another fortnight has passed which means it's time for another challenge at:

This week we have some marvellous sponsorship from two companies:

A Day For daisies are offering a shop voucher as one prize...http://buysassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.uk/
Sassy Studio designs are offering a prize of 4 digis from their shop. So pop over to Simply Papercraft and join in the fun. Our 'anything goes ' challenges are so easy to play along with!

I decided to use one of the A Day For Daisies wonderful digital images 'Hepbern Dress' and produced this:

What a gorgeous image to work with! I knew straight away she would be perfect to paper-piece and I used a cherry red polka dot patterned paper from Papermania's Spots and Stripes Capsule Collection which really pops out. I've had these papers since Christmas and just opened the packet - typical card-maker! The hair and skin were coloured with pro-markers and I've added some of my trademark bling in the form of three red gems.

I did think about using a black and white polka dot paper but nothing is as dramatic as red - my favourite colour. With having dark hair it is a colour I often turn to when dressing up - you always stand out when wearing red. I would love this dress - it's like a grown up version of Minnie Mouse's frock!

The 'fabulous' word art was a freebie long ago from Create with TLC and the birthday greeting was printed in Microsoft Word.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Shopping Our Stash Challenge - paper piecing
Creative Moments Challenge - monochromatic
As You Like It Challenge - favourite colour (red!)
Seize The Birthday - anything goes

Keep On Rockin'

It's one layer week at Less Is More and this week the team have given us the task of making a masculine card - oh the horror! One layer and masculine!

I've used a very old digi by Birdie brown called Rockin' Doggie - he's so cute and an ideal image to use for teenage boys. I've coloured him with pro markers and added the tiniest bit of bling - three glittery peel-offs as the control knobs on the guitar. The greeting is done using Mister Sirloin BTN Rare font.

Thanks for popping in

Black and White Bling

Today's card was inspired by an embossing folder that came with a recent issue of Papercraft Essentials and a sheet of black and clear gems I bought from Poundland ages ago and haven't even opened yet!.

I've followed the line of dots on the embossing folder, adding a black gem on to each dot. I've then cut the bottom half of the embossed card in the same shape. The greeting was done on the computer then die cut with a small oval die. From a distance the card reminds me of one of those Egyptian 'eyes'!

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Polkadoodles - add some embossing
Sister Act - anything goes #114
Inspiration Destination - anything goes #41
Penny's Paper-crafty Challenges - anything goes #235

Krafty Daisies

I haven't really used kraft coloured card much before but I needed a quick sympathy card and I felt that kraft was a sombre enough alternative to black.

I used a really old digi from Digistamp boutique and used watercolour pencils to colour the image. I love how the white pencil really stands out against the kraft.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-crafty Challenges - Anything Goes
