Golden Christmas Tree

A sort out in the craft room produced a pile of unloved stash that hasn't been looked at in years.... and I mean years! When I first started crafting I bought things like peel-offs which seemed like a good idea at the time but now have a bit of a naff feel to them. Here's an attempt to use some...

In hindsight I think I should have used a larger circle die to balance the design but I have plenty more peel-offs to play with!

I've entered this into the current challenges at:

CASology - cue word GOLD
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Bling It On

Christmas in July

I suppose it's never too early to start and the added bonus of having a week off work means I have made a start on my Christmas cards!

I liked the look of the sketch at Sketch Saturday this week - nice and symmetrical - so I used this as the layout of my card...

The Christmas Tree digi was a freebie from The Alley Way Stamps - they have some really fabulous freebies! The patterned papers are from Dovecraft Back To Basics Christmas set.

I've also entered this card into the challenges at:

Gingerloft - trees
Sweet Stampin' - Christmas in July
Sentimental Sundays - Christmas in July
The Pink Elephant - monochromatic

Now I've got my Christmas box out I might as well crack on and make some more!

Thanks for visitin'

Eleanor

Second post of the day - I have been busy! This card is for the daughter of a work colleague - I was asked to make a card with her name and age on it...

The patterned paper is by Doodlebug, as is the border. The name and numbers are die-cuts and the tiny flowers to match the border are punched. I've entered this into the challenges at:

Charisma Cards - girly
Seize the Birthday - anything goes
CAS-ual Fridays - count me in (use numbers)

Handmade Flowers

It's theme week at Less is More and the challenge is to use handmade flowers...

This is one of my most used digis, a freebie from Birdie Brown - I just love the stitched effect and it looks fab decoupaged. I used pink polka dotted patterned paper for the roses and built them up with foam pads.

Truck Racing

Today's card is an eighth birthday card for the son of a work colleague - the theme was truck racing...

Using a truck digi I made three tiny trucks coloured in bright primary colours. A large number eight forms the racing track and I've used a seriously bright green paper for the 'grass' background and trees.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

4 Crafty Chicks - Let's hear it for the boys

Purple Cats...

Hmm... a request for a card for a work colleague's niece who loves cats and the colour purple. So what better than purple cats!

I used the ever so cute stripy cat digi by Little Musings with various purple patterned paper from my stash. Card candi and gems were added for a touch of bling and the greeting is done on the computer using Candy Round BTN font.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

Hot Off The Press Papers

This month's Simply Cards and Papercrafts comes with some gorgeous free Hot Off The Press papers that I couldn't wait to play with - I especially like the tape measure effect:

The papers are quite busy so I've used quite a simple layout. I made the flower embellishment from 2 die cut flowers from a pack I bought years ago from Lakeland - coloured to match the papers and a button added for extra interest. The greeting is a rub-on I've had for years.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

Unstampabelles - Birthday
One Stop Challenge - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - make your own flowers/embellishments

Bye for now

50 Shades of Grey

The challenge at Less Is More this week is ...

Shades of Grey immediately made me think of sympathy cards for some bizarre reason - always useful to have a few ready. The digi flower is of course from the Digistamp Boutique and I've paper pieced the image with multi-toned grey patterned paper from Papermania's black and White Colossal paper pack. The flowers are finished off with some bargain 49p silvery-grey flat-backed pearls from Home Bargains - a brilliant source of crafty bits and bobs!

The craft room is closed this afternoon to concentrate on a certain tennis match! Can he do it?
